Police crackdown on robbers in Karachi, Lahore and Uch Sharif
KARACHI/LAHORE: Police targeted robbers from Karachi to Lahore, killing one robber in Karachi and arresting 2 in Lahore, ARY News reported.
According to details, police gunned down a robber in Karachi’s Bhutto Colony while 3 others were arrested from the city’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar and Model Colony areas. While in Punjab, 3 robbers were killed by police in Uch Sharif and 2 hijackers were arrested in an injured state from Lahore.
Last night in Karachi, citizens also assisted police in apprehending robbers. According to details, 4 robbers were carrying out their activity in Malir Model Colony when citizens caught hold of two of them and handed them over to police. The other two suspects were successful in escaping.
On the other hand, police arrested a wounded robber from Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar area while his accomplice was able to escape. These suspects were involved in a number of activities and were wanted by the police.
In Lahore’s Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate area, two robbers were severely injured in an encounter with police officials. According to police, these robbers were looting citizens in the area when police arrived. Police tried to apprehend the robbers but they opened fire. Hence, police retaliated and injured two robbers critically. Weapons were recovered from the injured robbers, who were shifted to Jinnah Hospital for treatment. Both suspects have been identified as Nadeem and Waseem.
In Uch Sharif, 3 robbers stole a motorcycle from a citizen and tried to flee when police chased them. The robbers opened fire and as a result, the police had to retaliate. All three robbers were killed in the incident.
