Two drivers in president’s squad detained over ‘suspicious activities’
LAHORE: Officials on Friday detained two members of President Mamnoon Hussain’s protocol squad over ‘suspicious activities’ while the presidential caravan was moving in Lahore, ARY News reported.
The drivers, Mehboob and Shakil, were taken into custody by intelligence personnel for questioning over ‘unnecessarily slowing down the president’s vehicle’.
CCPO Lahore Amin Wains said that at one point the drivers also tried to reverse the vehicle.
Both of them were taken into custody by an intelligence agency, he added.
Following the episode, president’s security was tightened, while his movement was subjected to clearance by security agencies.
