Pakistan should not play World T20 in India, says Imran
ISLAMABAD: Former Pakistani-cricketer Imran Khan has advised Pakistan to not take part in this year’s World Twenty20 (T20) in India following the remarks of Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister’s statements of not hosting the green shirts for the mega event, ARY News reported.
Himachal Pradesh CM Virbadra Singh had refused to host Pakistan for the World T20 and had asked Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to cancel or shift the highly anticipated Pakistan-India match at Dharamshala on March 19 to a different venue.
“Pakistan team should not play the event in India following Singh’s remarks”, Khan said while speaking in ARY News program Power Play.
Khan said that Indian politicians are playing politics by spreading hatred against Pakistan. “The players should not put their lives on the line by playing in India”, Khan added.
It should be noted that Shiv Sena extremists has threatened to dug out the pitch being made for the match while Aam Aadmi Party has also said that they will not allow the game to be contested in the country.
