Daily EngNAGPUR: Zimbabwe beat Hong Kong in their World Twenty20 qualifying stage match by 14 runs at Nagpur, ARY News reported.

Hong Kong won the toss and elected to field in the match.

Batting first, Zimbabwe scored 158/8 in their 20 overs Vusi Sibanda being the top scorer with 59 runs from 46 balls with the help of three boundaries and two sixes while Elton Chigumbura remained unbeaten after scoring 30 from 13 balls with three maximums to his name.

Malcolm Waller and Hamilton Masakadza contribute 26 and 20 runs respectively for the team.

Tanwir Afzal and Aizaz Khan grabbed two wickets for Hong Kong each.

In reply, Hong Kong side fell 14 runs short as they made 144/6 in their 20 overs.

Jamie Atkinson made 53 runs from 44 balls with four fours and two sixes to his name while Tanvir Afzal was unbeaten at 31 runs from 17 balls with the help of three boundaries and a six.

Donald Tiripano and Tendai Chatara took two wickets each.

Zimbabwe tops the Group B of the tournament’s qualifying stage with two points.

Vusi Sibanda was named Player of the match.
