Sony announces PlayStation games for iOS and Android
TOKYO (Web Desk) – Sony has created a new division within its interactive electronics business that will make PlayStation games for mobile devices.
The news comes hot on the heels of Nintendo announcing it is beginning work on mobile games – an industry that has exploded in popularity as smartphones have become more powerful in recent years.
The new division within the Japanese multinational conglomerate will be called ForwardWorks, and has the job of taking existing intellectual property on the PlayStation and creating games for iOS and Android from them, the SNAPPA Tech reported.
The only downside to this deal appears to be that for now the new business is focusing only on creating games in the Japanese and Asian markets, with no mention of further expansion just yet.
