dailypeghamFormer Pakistan Test batsman Muhammad Yousuf on Monday denied he was offered the post of head coach by Afghanistan Cricket Board (AFC).

The head coach position has been vacant after former Test captain Inzamamul Haq joined the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) as chief selector of the national team on April 18.

“My agent did apply for the post but I have not received any reply from the AFC,” said Yousuf, while speaking to The Express Tribune.

Yousuf, who holds the record for scoring most runs in a calendar year in Tests (1788), represented Pakistan in 90 Test matches maintaining an average of 52.29 courtesy 24 centuries and 33 half-tons.

He also played 244 ODIs for Pakistan, scoring 15 tons and 64 half-tons to accumulate an average of 41.71.
