Peace in Afghanistan vital for Pakistan: Sartaj Aziz
ISLAMABAD: Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs, Sartaj Aziz, said on Wednesday that peace and progress in Afghanistan was important for Pakistan.
The two-day Afghan Conference in Brussels came to an end in which 20 institutions and 75 countries pledged $15 billion aid till 2020 for Afghanistan. Sartaj Aziz disclosed that Pakistan had also pledged $500 million for Afghanistan.
EU President said that by 2017, European countries would be the biggest donors of Afghanistan.
Pakistan has been time and again stressing on the fact that a peaceful, stable and progressive Afghanistan would be beneficial for Pakistan. Pakistan has time and again also campaigned for peace in Afghanistan and was a key facilitator of the Afghan peace process.
