Match-fixing was at its peak in 1996: Shoaib Akhtar
KARACHI: Ex-cricketer Shoaib Akhtar who played key role in defusing Afridi-Miandad row has said that match-fixing was at its peak in 1996.
Talking to Geo News, Shoaib said had Afridi-Miandad issue landed in court it would have opened up Pandora’s box and many hidden faces might have exposed.
‘So I advised Shahid from sending legal notice to Javed Miandad and also requested legendry batsman to stay quiet for the time being.’
Javed bhai crossed the line, he should not have said that, Akhtar said.
