I wanted to fight and oust Nawaz Sharif’s govt: Sheikh Rashid
ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rashid Ahmad said during PTI’s ‘Youm-e-Tashakur’ rally on Wednesday that he wanted to confront the Nawaz-led federal government and ‘burn’ the Premier’s palace down.
Addressing a large crowd at Parade Ground, Sheikh Rashid said that PTI chief Imran Khan had put his trust in the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
“I swear to God when Imran called and invited me, I was so disheartened that I didn’t want to attend this rally,” he said.
Sheikh Rashid said that he knew Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif very well and said that he was the same man who was behind the attack on former Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah.
He saluted Chief Of Army Chief General Raheel Sharif and urged him to take action against the real culprit behind the Dawn leaks scandal and said that the mere sacrifice of Pervez Rasheed was not acceptable.
During his speech, Sheikh Rashid also slammed Leader of The Opposition Khursheed Shah, claiming that the whole nation knew about Dr Asim’s release.
“Khursheed Shah, shame on you for saying that Imran Khan is strengthening Nawaz Sharif,” he said. “The whole nation knows how Dr Asim was released,” he added.
Before concluding his speech, the AML chief urged PTI chairman Imran Khan to lead the poor and topple the government of the elite.
“It is my experience that the poor and downtrodden is always loyal,” he said, before ending his speech.
