ISLAMABAD: According to Mufti Saeed, the cleric who had Imran Khan and Reham Khan’s marriage solemnized, the PTI chief and Reham got married on October 31, 2014, (Muharram 7) and not in January 2015.

Imran Khan and Reham Khan had announced their marriage to the world in January 2015 less than a month after the cricketer-turned-politician ended his much publicised anti-government sit-in protest in Islamabad. A photo session was also held after the nikah ceremony and pictures of the occasion were shared on social media in which both Reham and Imran could be seen clad in traditional wedding clothes.

However, a couple of days ago Reham Khan spoke to Geo News’ anchor Rabia Anum and said that she had jokingly asked Imran as to what he would gift her on their first wedding anniversary. She claimed he had given her a divorce as a wedding anniversary present instead.

“I had jokingly asked him what gift he would give me on our wedding anniversary. On October 31, he divorced me as a gift for the wedding anniversary,” she claimed.

Mufti Saeed also raised a few eyebrows when he claimed that Imran Khan and Reham got married on October 31, 2014 and not in January 2015. It is pertinent to mention here that Mufti Saeed had earlier claimed to media personnel that Imran and Reham had gotten married in January 2015.

The celebrity couple’s marriage had ended On October 31, 2015 when Imran had announced via a tweet that he had divorced Reham. Their marriage had lasted for ten months. Media reports prior to the divorce claimed that the couple was not getting along.
