Iran acknowledges Pakistan Army’s achievements in war against terrorism
RAWALPINDI: Pakistan and Iran have agreed to ensure that their soil is not used by any third party against any of the two countries.According to ISPR, this agreement was reached at a meeting between Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa and Iranian Defence Minister Brigadier General Amir Hatami in Tehran on Tuesday.
He also visited Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Headquarters where he interacted with their senior leadership during second day of the visit.The Iranian Defence Minister acknowledged achievements of Pakistan Army in war against terrorism and expressed his country’s willingness to enhance defence cooperation.
Army Chief highlighted that with improved special measures by Pakistan on Pak-Afghan border, terrorists are likely to exploit Pak-Iran friendly border and both countries need to put in efforts to deny its use by them.
Thanked Iranian Military and government for hospitality extended by Iran during the visit on behalf of COAS.
Gen. Asif Ghafoor briefed Iranian media about Pakistan’s efforts, achievements and sacrifices in war against terror and towards regional peace. Pakistan and Iranian Army leadership has agreed to continue bilateral engagements for enhanced security cooperation.
