KARACHI: Country’s oil sales rose by 21 per cent in August year-on-year (YoY) to 1.555 million tonnes due to an increase in demand of furnace oil (FO) by 71pc YoY to 311,000 tonnes.

In July-August 2020-21, oil sales witnessed 11pc growth to 3.2m tonnes.

During August, sales of high speed diesel and petrol rose by 25pc and 10pc to 508,000 tonnes and 697,000 tonnes as compared to August 2019.

Furnace oil, diesel, and petrol sales during 2MFY21 increased by 14pc, 19pc, and 9pc to 551,000 tonnes, 1.180m tonnes, and 1.408m tonnes respectively.
