In Birmingham UK, local photographer Saadia Kiyani (B.A Hons) hosted a thank you party for participants in her “Legends of Balsall Heath” photographic project.
This project was funded by Birmingham University and supported by St Pauls Community Development Trust. The project involved photographing local
people who fit the project criteria. People who have lived/worked in Balsall Heath for over 20 years were sought out. This is an on going project and the
“legends” photographs will be used as part of a bus campaign to inspire people on the number 50 bus route. This is known as the busiest bus route in Europe.
The intention behind the project is to highlight local activists and community workers who have bettered the lives of local people.
