Candlelight Vigil for Lahore terrorist attack victims at the Pakistan High
To honour the memory of Lahore terrorist attack victims, and to express
solidarity with their families, the Pakistan High Commission London organised a
Candlelight Vigil on Tuesday, 29 March 2016.
In his remarks on the occasion, H.E. Syed Ibne Abbas, Pakistan High Commissioner
to the UK condemned the heinous act of terrorism and termed it an attack on
humanity. He said the forces of darkness want to take Pakistan backward but the
resolve of the Pakistani nation is far stronger than the evil designs of the
terrorists. The High Commissioner expressed solidarity with the families of the
victims and reiterated government’s resolve to completely eliminate terrorism
and extremism from the soil of Pakistan.
Staff of the High Commission together with a large number of friends of Pakistan
gathered at the Vigil to condemn this heinous act of terrorism and to express
the resolve to defeat the nefarious designs of terrorists and extremists.
In a horrific terrorist attack at the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park in Lahore on 27 March
2016, scores of precious lives were lost and hundreds were injured.
Similar Vigils were held at Pakistan’s Consulates in Birmingham, Bradford,
