Tragedy King Dilip Kumar turns 94
MUMBAI: Veteran actor Dilip Kumar, unarguably the greatest actor of Indian cinema, turned 94 on Sunday. As the thespian is undergoing treatment for not being well, millions of his fans expect him to be home to celebrate his birthday.
Dilip Kumar was once again hospitalised earlier this week.
The actor, known as tragedy king , is called a school of acting for his mesmerising histrionics . Dilip Kumar has been immortalised in Indian cinema by his performances in films like Devdas, Yehudi, Daag, Deedar. Andaz, Mela, Mughal-e-Azam, Naya Daur, Ganga Jamuna, Aan, Amar, Ram Aur Shyam and Kohinoor.
Dilip Kumar was born on December 11, 1922, in Peshawar, now in Pakistan.
His wife Saira Banu, a well-known actress of yesteryears, is monitoring his health.
“He is taking rest and we need your duas for him to recoup well and all should be fine by his birthday. Please pray for his quick and safe recovery,” Saira Banu said.
